Richmond----->known for strength. That sound at 65-70 mph is simply "harmonics," as it appears your set up is dead nuts perfect.

I had the same experience with the same price. Keep him in your back pocket, a good rear end guy is hard to find.

(Ok, that sounded funny... )

when i had my '85 regal 400sbc/th350 380rwhp i had richmand 4.10's in the stock 7.5 10 bolt. never whined at all. i did eventaly snap/shatter the spider gears(opened diff) after 2 years from a hard "fish tail" around a corner. appon breaking a peice of one of the spider gears got between the R&P and actually bent one of the teeth on the pinion slightly. I didnt want to replace the gears since i was going to sell the car soon(so it thought), so i just stuck another stock carrier in it & put it back togther. it made alittle noise crusing, no noise accelerating, and a awful noise decelerating, kinda like the jake brake of a 18 wheeler while slowing down, but the richmands never broke and i drove it for 2-3 months around 2,000miles like that.
if i ever buy gears again im going to buy richmand.

Richmond 3.73's in my stock 10 bolt. They make a tiny bit of noise but its definately not unbearable. Like someone mentioned above, the radio or talking to someone easily drowns it out.

I have Richmond 3.90's. They whine a little, but mostly on deceleration (70 to 60 mph). It's not obnoxious though.

Well I tied a set of 411 richmonds in my 12 bolt and we could not get a consitent pattern around the ring gear.****** was mismachined.I tried to run it any way but had to pull it after 300 mi ,couldn't stand the noise. That is the last richmond gear I'll buy.

There are 2 sets of Richmonds. One is a cheap set and the other is the USA made set. No one I know has ever had any problem with the good USA set. I just installed 4.10's in my car and the whine is between 40 and 70, but isn't bad at all. I would reccomend Richmonds for the 10 bolts just simply because they are junk as is and could use any help than can get to keep them alive.
