Default Anyone swapped a C4 IRS into 4th gen?

Acquired a Dana 44 IRS from 93 vette. I'd like to put it in the TA instead of Dad's 55.
Anybody have any info on this? Can I still use the ABS & TCS if I swap?

I think Art Carr has done several swaps using C4 IRS.

What's your planned use for the car?

I plan on making a driver. I'm not saying I won't occasionally go to the 1/8 mile track. But I'm focusing more on handling. I know the Dana 44 is stronger than my 10 bolt and will give the car a better ride. I know it is not as strong as a 12 bolt. And I've never heard on one in a 4th gen. That also appeals to me. I've heard of them being put in a 3rd gen, and since we share the same rear suspension and framerails as they do, than it should go in the same. However we have ABS & TCS, so how would we integrate the C4 systems to ours?

Marty. If you had an auto C4 than it had the Dana 36 which has only a 7 7/8" ring gear. I have a Dana 44 IRS which is 8.5" will handle more power. I eventually plan to use Stage 2 heads and a hammer cam. If I can't still use the ABS, then I'll just get a 12 bolt. After looking and comparing measurements, I don't think I'll have to hack up my car too bad. But I don't know anything about the compatability of the 2 different electronics systems. If I can get access to some wiring diagrams of both vehicles, than I may be able to find out something. I figured I'd check here first to possibly save me some time and make things easier on me. I wonder if c4c5 would know anything about this?

I blew up 3 C4 IRS rear ends in my 93' auto vette. It was not modified, I mean bone stock. I never even used a sticky tire on the car. Just something to think about.

I emailed c4c5 and this was his response:
"Well, just remember, that with the Camaro, you have only one sensor, located at the center of the rear diff, to control ABS, and TCS. You will have to specify the models used, and what the VINs are.
ON Corvette, you have one sensor at each wheel, and you have the output shaft sensor, located at the end of the transmission.
I dont see that there should be any problem, given the mods that you are talking about.
Just remember, if you have one sensor at the hub of the rear diff of the Fcar, you must still have one when you are finished.
Now, you can put the sensors at either outer spindle, however, you will have to duplicate the exact pulses per mile that would be checked by the anitlock computer.
ABS, and TCs are the same computer, and they all work together.
Just remember these points, and I think you will be fine."
