Tell me what I need...
I have a 1998 Z28 A4. I plan on spraying about a 200 shot and have a 382 All Bore. I am going to have a Vigilante 3600.
Is there any more info yall might need to help me better pick out what I need???

Really. who?
Colonel runs a 12 bolt.
12 bolt is the only option for a ABS (non TCS) only car.
Traction Control(TCS) car can use 9 inch or 12 bolt.

I dunno much about autos, but definetley get 33 spline axles. I'd say maybe a 3.73 gear? check out www.prestage.com that might help you better with gear selection.

I've heard of many instances of poor build quality by Moser, people twisting the axles on the Strange 12-bolt rears, and broken posi's left and right from both. Another thing to consider... The Eaton HD posi that Moser uses is built by Eaton as a 30 or 31 spline (I don't recall right now), but Moser modifies it to work with the 33 spline axle. That is the weakest link that I know of - a 33 spline Eaton Posi can fail under high HP (guy was running 10s).
When it comes time for me to get a 12-bolt, I'll probably take my chances with a Moser, order the 30- or 31-spline axles (not 33), get the Eaton posi w/ 4.10 gears and ABS. That should hold up well enough for me. I'm planning on running about 118-120 mph in the quarter, with 28" tires, so I should be turning around 6000-6200 RPM in 4th.

My Strange came ready to bolt in, filled with fluid. Bolted it in and went!
axles too long, machined.
put it back together and in myself and had a whoppoing month of trouble free driving. I'll never buy one of them again. I'd get strange next time.
Though Moser fixed it and paid shipping, they can kiss my ***. **** poor quality control. Axles were too long BOTH times i got it from them. Both! I even told them about it when i sent it back!
Gears were noisy too.
I wouldnt get 33x either. 30 would be fine and less static loss The Eaton HD is the **** though.

BUT, my Moser 12-bolt is awesome! Never a failure with hundreds and hundreds of launches. It's taken me into the 9s and I fully expect it to take me into the 8s in 2002.
I have the 31 spline axles with the HD Eaton. The Eaton is VERY strong and very quiet.
BTW, Rob Moser himself told me that their 12-bolt for the F-body is stronger than their 9". Why? Because it's not just a reworked 12-bolt. Moser designed the housing new from the ground up. Plus, it's lighter and fits better too (doesn't make it look like you have a lift kit.)

I ran 10.98 @ 125.83 MPH on stock tranny and stock rear axle.
I've raced about every other week since March and nearly every week since I got the SC (late September).
