Default Noise in car, coming from rear.....

My car is making a noise that is about to drive me crazy. It sounds a lot like a big, 4x4 Truck coming down the road, the familiar "wah-wah-wah" sound associated with large knobby tires, but I don't have big knobby tires on my car. I thought it might've been a warped wheel, so I checked them and lo and behold, one of them was warped. $412 ( ) later, I hit the road again, only to find the noise is still there. what else could it be. I have a set of 4.10 gears, could the problem lie there? I hope not, although it would be a good excuse to step back to 3.73's.

Thanks in advance guys,I know y'all can help me!

Taco,

If you have 4:10's with a M6 you probably need a new ring and pinion. I just got mine replaced. The teeth on the ring were bent. Although none have broke, mine was howling bad.

Damn, that's what I was afraid of. Looks like 3.73's for me. Oh well, they'll probably be better anyway, as I go through the quarter just at the very top of 4th. I had planned on going 3.73's to start with and let a buddy of mine talk me into 4.10's...... bastard!!!

Anyway, thanks for the help.
