Default 10 Bolt Cover any suggestions?

I know, i know save the money and put it towards a Moser or Strange 12 Bolt... But I wanna push the stocker for as long as I can, that being said, any suggestions on which cover is the best ?

Mac, TA, Summit ?

Anyone have good or bad to say about any of them?

Thanks!

Steve

the TA and the thunder racing cover look the best, but no real reason other than that not to get the cheaper mac.

that 10 bolt should for a while in your auto, especially with you not running DR's. what gears are you running? how big a shot w/ the wet kit?

That looks real nice, where do you get them? Are they as solid as a TA cover? Do they perform as well?

That seems like an awesome cover since you can keep an eye on the gear wear and oil levels. Just makes me wonder if it's as strong as a TA cover...

And you can't seem to order from td performance.

the factory cover is about 20x stronger than one of those! the purpose of the ta/mac covers are the main cap preload studs and the ease of fluid changes. these will cause even more distortion than the stock stamped cover.

you can barley even see the diff cover on an f-body, these covers are meant to spoof up the diffs for jacked up trucks etc.

i believe i saw clear valvecovers at one time, those would be pretty cool.

cleargearz.com or somthing like that is the place for the clear stuff.

well i guess i should go out and buy a tornado to put in front of my MAF too! says right on their website that they increase HP TQ and fuel economy! i should also get one of those electric "turbonator" fans off ebay for my intake tract as well! they are just like having a turbo for $69.95!!!

so you're telling me that thin *** plexiglass is stronger than 1/2" thick aluminum? you're either in the business of selling those or highly delusional

Yeah, there is no way in hell that cover can be compared to an alumnium girdle style cover, it's not a similar design and obviously doesn't offer the same support.

All the aluminium gridle style covers are pretty much the same and offer the same supprot and stregth. I just ordered a T/A from Thunder only because most places have the cheaper MAC cover on backorder.

I heard the MAC covers were crappy though. I went with the TA cover.

man you guys are harsh on these clear covers...

Acrylic can be stronger than aluminum, so when they claim it's stronger than the STOCK aluminum cover I believe em.

What's the purpose of a diff. cover.....to hold fluid in!

You can still add the stud kit if you want to strengthen the 10 bolt, which is a much better option IMO than going with a cover that has bearing cap preload screws.

the stock cover is steel

there was an offshore race boat on the great biker buildoff ( or on rides maby ?) last night that had 2 blown big blocks. they both had some badass valvecovers with metal for sides, but had a clear cover on the top w/ screws all the way around. looked really trick. showed it running and revved up too.

the boat was called Pier 57 or somthing like that.
