If I read right, SoftLockers are actually stronger than regular Detroit Lockers, as well as(obviously) easier on the street. I know it's a different application, but my Jeep on 33" tires w/ 4.56s and a manual trans is possibly the worst setup to put a locker in. Yet I have a SoftLocker in it, and the only time I know it's there is when I pull out onto a road rather spiritedly(115 hp doesn't normlly squall the tires), and when I'm easing into a parking spot(due to the required play in the mechanism... it'll buck in 2nd gear if I let it). Just be aware that it will have more play in the driveline, so adjust how you leet off the gas accordingly to avoid "snapping" the drivetrain.
