Default Who makes the strongest gears?

Who makes the strongest gears for our weak rear ends? Motive, Strange, or who. I need 4.10s.

Actual genuine GM gears are suppose to be the "strongest" for the 10's. But, 10 bolt and "strong" don't even belong in the same sentence

Hmmm, I don't remeber the specifics, but remember there being a discussion of strength of the different gear types based on the cut - one was quieter and weaker, one was louder and stronger - and I seem to remember the GM motive were in the quieter but weaker category.

Hopefully someone else can fill this in better, as my memory is a bit spotty on this - was it straight vs. hypoid cut?

Straight cut gears are the strongest gears. If you go over to Summit or Jegs the straight cut gears will be the "race" gears. They are noisier than the GM OEM gears however. Don't expect straightcut gears to keep a 10bolt alive any longer. These 10bolts are the weakest link in the car.

I'm running a set of Genuine GM 3.73's, and they're really quiet. They're just as quiet as my stock 3.23's were, and they were nearly silent. I've yet to take it to the track, but I'm hoping to make some 1/8-mile passes tomorrow. I'll be looking for low 1.6/high 1.5 60' times, so hopefully they're strong enough for that.

I broke a set of motive gears in about 6 months and they were loud from the first time I hammered it. I now have GM/Superior gears from tbyrne's and they are holding up very well and they are just as quiet as my factory gears. I'm sure its more important to get a good install or no brand will last very long.

all these quasi GM gear sets aren't GM. GM used to have outsourced gear production but they haven't for years

GM makes genuine GM gears, no one else. GM was considering litigation awhile back on this issue. This, according to Dal at Van Devere, formerly Dal at Lambert's
