I am not sure exactly what I need. I was hoping that I could get some "If I had to do it all over again" advice.
I have a 2000 Z/28 without traction control, I want to keep the ABS. I am putting close to I would say 385 rwhp now. I know I want 4.10's or 4.11's.
What are the options I need ? Which company should I go with ? Strange, Moser ? What about the gear install, do they come installed from the factory ? I think I have heard that you need to get them checked locally once it comes in.
Fill me in, Thanks in advance.

I would just recommend the same setup I have.
Moser 12-bolt
33 spline upgrade axles (do it right the first time)
Eaton 33-spline posi
1310 sized yolk
plain chrome cover
ABS reluctor ring on the posi
1/2" lug studs
4.10 gears
Order it assembled and have a good gear installer check the backlash and pattern before installing it.
You will also need:
U-joint to fit between driveshaft and yolk
primer and spray paint (comes bare)
two 3" U-bolts (to mount sway bar)
8 nuts (3/8"?) to mount brake backing plates
Gear oil
GM limited slip additive

I ordered mine on Friday from Thunder Racing.
I got the Moser, 33-spline, 4.10's, Eaton HD Posi ($100 extra), 3-channel ABS, 1350 U-joint. I'm looking for someone to check it locally, but it'll be a couple of weeks before it arrives. I'm not excited about the Eaton (weakest link), but if it fails, I'll say screw it and go spool.
I'm getting a Denny's Nitrous Shaft to go with it, so I'll just get it built with a 1350 U-joint as well.
And I'll install the Cartek clutch this weekend hopefully, so my driveline ought to be tight for a while.

My friend and I just put in Moser 12 bolts in our cars, and they came assembled from Moser. The gears have a very slight whine on decel but thats it.
Moser 12 bolt
33 spline axles
Eaton Posi
1310 yoke
T/A cover (makes changing the gear oil real quick)
And as Tony said, you will need 8 3/8"-24 nuts and washers for the backing plate bolts, new u joint, tubing for the vent. I had to get the new bearings pressed in because I didn't send them my backing plates.

Dont get a moser...go with strange....strange has a much better build quality and no wine from the gears...nearly all moser rear ends have alot of wine unless you get them set up elsewhere...

Unless you're going deep into the 10's or using N2O (big torque spike off the line) 1310's are fine....look at Tony...1.5x sixty with a mn6..no problems with 1310's...I do know I made a mistake and ordered the 1350 billet yoke on my Moser and the stock driveshat would not fit....the 1350 standard(not billet) yoke "might" be ok.

It seems to me that the "standard" when ordering is to get the 1350. Are you saying that it might not fit on my driveshaft ? Can we get some verification on the fitment of the standard 1350 yoke ?

The billet 1350 is 0.75 too long for a stock driveshaft...me,keith and others that bought the billet 1350 had to get new shafts.....someone here has to have tried the standard 1350 and should know if it fits .

I walked in to this deal knowing that I'd be getting a new driveshaft, as the stock one is crap (for an M6 with sticky tires). I'm playing 'the weakest link' before anything really happens. I have always planned on getting a Denny's that was 3/4" shorter than stock. I'm not a fan of carbon fiber driveshafts, and I've seen way too many pictures of the stock aluminum one looking like a taco.
From front to back, my setup will be Cartek clutch with new Cartek hydraulics, Denny's Nitrous shaft, 1350 u-joint, Eaton HD posi, Moser 33-spline axles... Where is... the weakest link?
Eaton. Or T56.
Not that I'm making that much power, yet. But I only bought my car (bone stock) at the end of August.

I went with the 1310 yolk as per a discussion with the guys with Moser. They told me that that yolk should be just fine for a car my raceweight to run deep into the 9s with. The stock driveshaft will fit just fine with a new U-joint. I twisted mine in half, so now I have a carbon fiber driveshaft.
T/A cover would be nice, just for the oil changes.
Andrew, your weakest link will probably be the T56 input shaft or the Eaton spider gears. But, those are pretty tough to break. If it can break, I'll figure it out haha. I already warped one T56 input shaft pretty badly.

I went with Strange:
33 Spline 4130 ht Ax.
Eaton Posi.
1350 Yoke
LPW Cover
ABS T/C @ Wheels--(Depends on yr & option)
1/2" Studs
411 Gears
The rear is in and its quite as a mouse.
Strange takes a little longer to get because of the Demand!!! "TO MANY ORDERS"
