Default How much loss with Denny's Driveshaft?

I picked up a used 9" rear that came with a Denny's nitrous ready driveshaft. I hope to have it installed in the next few weeks.
I noticed that the driveshaft is MUCH heavier than the stock aluminum one(duh!) Just wondering if anyone knows how much HP that will suck up.
Thanks!

Not enough for you to notice. The piece of mind will far out weigh any power loss.

It's even a lot heavier then my stock steal DS

I really would not worry about it that much. Peace of mind is worth the "maybe" .1 that you would lose from your ET.

You can do a negitive dyno pull to measure the loss of the drivestrain but unless you can do that with the NR and stock shafts it's not going to tell you much

yeah, I would say it's not too much to worry about... when I installed my 231/237 cam, I also installed a Denny's Nitrous Ready driveshaft, a catted y-pipe (was running ORY when in full bolt-on form), and 17" wheels (had 16" wheels before) and still dynoed 46 rwhp more than I did bolt-ons only. No numbers with the F13 cam yet...

I think maybe the Nitrous Ready shaft is worth a 5-10 rwhp loss at the very most depending on what kind of setup you have. Certainly well worth it considering the stock likes to pretzel up on a hard launch.

Yeah, the piece of mind will be nice! I was just curious, thanks for the reply's guys!
BTW, I weighed it last night. With both u-joints and the tranny yoke on it, it weighed 20.5 lbs!
I am getting excited about launching on the juice, w/slicks and 4.33's soon though!

I'd guess at least 8 rwhp over an aluminum. If you get a chance to swap it out during a dyno pull, try it. I'd be curious to know as well. I went from aluminum to a steel speed inc DS

So what's the lightest heavy duty driveshaft (non-carbon fiber)? Weight?

I have a 3.5 Lingenfelter Aluminium DS and it weighed 12 lbs.
