Right, but what all is being changed? bearings, Posi, seals, races etc etc etc? if ALL your doing is a gear swap then all you need is the basid kit that has the shims etc etc. If your rebuilding everything get the complete kits

Are you planning to install it yourself? I'd take the whole car to a shop to have them do the job for you. The diff' isn't something you want to touch unless you've had real training and have the proper tools and guages or else...

Doing it yourself can be a real nightmare... but if you are not messing around with the bearing races, and have a micrometer and a dial gauge, it prolly wouldnt be too terrible...

I have done a few (the right way). No it's not fun and yes you risk failure if you don't get it exact. backlash is easy, pinion depth and preload is not. I spent about 500 bucks on specialy tools to do it and I still needed more. I would recomend a shop, but if your brave try it

I talked to a tech up here that has set up a lot of these rear ends and he said the same thing unless your car has a lot of miles on it then mybe you should get the bearings. Mine has 40k and he said there was plenty of life in the bearings still yet.
