Is there any differance in power between these two?

if you mean D an OD in a stock tranny, NO there is none. just leave it in D at the race and it will be fine. ps and dont manual shift it will only hurt you.

It's been said that the computer "shifts" differently or more aggressively in D that OD.

I do know, is a stock A4 car is bumping the limiter on shifts, putting it in OD will often cure it.
