Instant Center-Torque Arm and LCAs

Instant Center-Torque Arm and LCAs
This pic came from Metco's webpage. Specifically a page about LCA relocation brackets. With a stock torque arm, it would mount about where the diagram says "OEM Instant Center" right? Almost like maybe GM designed the stock LCA angle to intercept the torque arm mount. By changing the TA length and LCA angle we are manipulating away from stock in both directions (moving the IC back in some instances and foward in others). Or is this diagram useless to us since it only shows the LCAs?
CGII is the center of gravity height.

Re: Instant Center-Torque Arm and LCAs
Yep, but Jay Billinglsey made a good point when he noted that the torque arm absorbs the entire torque load from the rear end. Instant center is the point at any given instataneous moment around which the rear suspension rotates (reacts).
This is going to be determined exclusively by the torque arm - the mounting point *is* the instant center.
The function of the lower control arm's is only to provide a medium to transfer the "driving force" to the frame.
The above illustrations is really for a 3-link or 4-link type arrangement. If the axle housing could rotate around the torque arm if the LCA's were disconnected then it would be accurate (but then our suspension would be a 3-link).

Like a ladder bar, right?
Edit - could LCA relocators help nonlowered cars as well?
