Default 3.73 or 3.42 gear

i cant decide on which gear to get, 3.73 or the 3.42. the thing is my car is my only car so i drive it almost daily and i heard the 3.73 will make my car burn more gas. also im not planning on getting turbo or supercharger on the car but im planning to get a lt4 hot cam kit in the future. which gears would be good for my car? thanks

I went with 3.42 from 2.73 and love it. Most go with the 3.73 but na its over kill if u ask me sense you drive yours all the time to much waste in gas your going to do about 2500 at 60 i do about 2100 rpm so still ok on gas

Go with 3.73's. If you have the extra money get a 2800 or 3200 stall converter too.

2800 to 3200 should be enough unless you want a drag car. In which case you will want to get drag radials.

I am including a link to help you determine which gear is best for you. I am going through the same thing and do not know if a 3.73 would be too much since it is a daily driver and I have no intentions of using drag radials.

Feed some small gear sizes into 4th... .1 nets you about 4000 MPH! .0001 nets around 3 million.
