I'm ready for 4.10's!
I have a 2001 SS M6 and I want to put 4.10 gears in my stock rear end. What brand is good and what differences am I going to notice. I have y2k 18's in the back wrap w/295/35/18. I'm going to install it myself, any recommendations or hints? Thanx!

i got a question i want to also put 4.10s i don't take my car off the line that much if hardly ever. i mostly do first gear rooling punches or 2nd gear rolling punches i wont have to worry about destroying my 10 bolt would I?

You wont have to worry about breaking it as fast. It WILL break but its just a question of how fast and when. Punches dont damage the rearend as much as a dig.
I had motive gears when I had my ten bolt. Great gears. Dont buy richmond. Thier customer service rep told me that it is normal for their gears to whine???

I got the gm motive 4.10, and the diff winds up(low rpm), it doesn't "whine": i'd imagine the richmond gears sound similar. You will get more power but your engine will have to run at higher rpms. ex: in 6th @90mph mine runs @2100rpm.
