After reading all the posts relating to the converter lockup issues with big stalls (>3500) in cars with cams, the PO300 missfire code IS the cuprit. Your second option instead of going to ED is to wait for LS1 EDIT to come out.

I had lock up problems because of the misfire code as well. Had misfire's turned off and cured that problem. BTW, it doesn't need to be a big cam to set this code.

I had lock up problems daily with my B1 cam and stock tuning. I heard that the L Trims have to do with it also because of the stock tuning. With the Ed Wright tuning i have zero lock up issues.

I don’t know about Ltrims, but I can guarantee you that with a bigger type cam that nasty PO300 (random multiple misfire code) code will cause lock-up issues. I’ve never heard of anyone having lock-up issues due to a cam once that code was removed via a custom tune. I had MTI remove it from my PCM, they said that would keep the ‘verter locking. They never said anything about Ltrims. I haven’t put the cam in yet though, so I don’t know for sure yet. But this is the first I’ve heard about Ltrims (too high or too low???) causing the issue.

EW tuning with a 228/228 112lsa cam here and no lockup problems at all with a ST3500 converter.

EW should be able to get your converter to lock-up right.

LTRIMs and Misfires can both effect lock-up.

Ragtop, please explain to me what about the Ltrims effects lock up? I’d like to know incase I have any issues even with the PO300 removed. I’ve never heard of this happening until this thread, so please enlighten me as to what needs to be done with the Ltrims to fix this. I think EW sets the Ltrims at 0 permanently, leaving the Strims to do all the work, correct? But with a stock tune they move around, and it doesn’t seem to be an issue <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

Please make me “informed” <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> Thanks...

If your LTRIMs are messed up, the perceived load and fuel trim cell being used can be off. This can effect when the computer calls for lock-up and how much line pressure the computer uses to hold lock-up.

But what do you mean by "messed up"? Always maxed out at 25%?
