Default Does this sound like a bad posi??

-squealing, sometime grinding noise when turning at low speeds
-somewhat of a spool, or welded axle bounce to the car when turning
-gear whine progressively getting worse
-traction issues at the dragstrip....not much but a lil, maybe due to bald *** nittos, but it just started when the gear whine, and spool feel came about

any suggestions??

Hey beau, try looking at the spider gears in the posi.. look for worn/sheared teeth..

Thats what happend to me, it just popped on me so we pulled it apart and replaced it and the teeth on mine were pretty worn.

got the cover off and instantly saw silver fluid and felt metal shavings....looked in the bottom of the differential housing to find a c-clip just laying there....not cool!

thanks everyone!

damn...... dont tell me this is my problem too..... when im takeing a slow sharp turn sometimes ill get a pop or a rubbing noise. the onlything ive done is change the rearend fluid and when i took it off the lift and drove it started, just out of nowhere! my traction seems fine though. help! could it be the brakes?
