Moser 12 bolts here (posi, 3,73's, 33 spline).
My rear end was totally silent when new. The guys at the shop opened it and said that the original setting by Moser was correct. Now, after 6000 miles, I have a slight whining between 40 and 50 mph, but nothing serious (my 10 bolts was ten times louder than that). Went to the track 3 weeks ago and made 24 passes in the high 12's with a best of 12.665@116.3 and a 60ft of 1.906 (BFG drag radials). The rear end sounds exactly the same than it sounded before the track. Everything is still holding strong.
Overall I'm happy with my 12 bolts.

Well said Ric.. I'm gonna do the same when I order up my 12 bolt. It'll be nice to pound on the car and not have to cringe wondering when the next shift makes it go boom in the driveline. Probably throw a 3.5" aluminum or a good steel shaft in it at that point too.

1ScrudeDude... you said 3.73's are quieter... than what? Any of the other ratios? Or better than 4.10s? Many of us are wondering if the noise issues might be related to specific gearsets (manufacturer X/ratio Y).
I'm dissappointed that so far the poll shows the exact frickin' thing for both Strange and Moser. Hopefully as the number of responses increases there will be more of a consensus...

Very happy with my Strange overall. It does sing a bit on decel but not unbearable. I called Strange and talked to one of their engineers who said that they typically setup their gears to be run agressively so some noise is normal. Strange builds a high quality piece!

That is the trend anyway...

Richmond gears use to be put in at Moser as the standard gearset, and they had a habit of being noisy. I use to request that US Gears be installed when I placed my Moser orders, as they are quieter and are still a strong gearset. Moser has recently switched over to using the US Gears as their main gearset, so I imagine you will hear less problems about loud gears.
I sell one to four Moser 12 bolts each week, and I hear of very few problems. Bob

I have a 12 bolt Moser going in on Tuesday. I will let you all know how well it goes.
12 Bolt, 33 spline, 3.73 gears, 4 channel ABS, so I can keep my ABS and TCS

i'm happy with my Moser.... it might be loud, but I can't hear it over the exhaust... only problem i've had so far is the crome differential cover coming loose and leaking diff fluid... but that was a very easy fix. so no complaints here...

**the only way someone will be able to know this is by checking it when it's out. We've changed the fluid and it's appeared to be fine so it's not like we don't service my car, we do.
