I know that you're supposed to fill the new convertor back up before reinstalling it, but how much will be dependent on which convertor (size?) you're using I think.

Not to be a smart@ss but you fill it until the fluid level is at the full mark on the dipstick. My advice would be to fill the converter as much as possible(not too much or it will spill when you tip it on its side) and add 1-2 quarts before firing it up. Then, with the car still in the air start it and check to make sure all of the gears work properly. Next, drive around until the tranny is at operating temp and then with the motor running check the fluid and add accordingly...remember too much is just as bad as too little.
