Default 4.10s drivin me frickin nutzz

4.10s in car for the 3rd time now. still have a bad whine/vibration. at 72 mph+ unreal vibration. had a few rearend guys of my friends come help with the 3rd install. good mesh/backlash. drove car and still sounds like ****. very very liud whine, start feeling slight vibration at 35+. burned 2 front rearend bearings in 3 days. adjusted the loose spohn adj ta ( was loose when i bought the car) its set to -2* now. ta was at +2 when we started and was hoping this was my problem the whole time. well its not. any rearend gurus near northwest indiana that wouldnt mind lending me a hand or any tips from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Even brand new 4.11 geared 12 bolt Mosers, Strange, etc. whine! It's the angle all performance aftermarket gears are cut. OEM gears are cut to run quite.

If you want a quite 4.11, get one out of an S10 pickup. Be sure to get the matching shims also.

with car on stands, rearend loaded. ive watched the driveshaft/yokes and all look to be spinning nice and smooth. didnt have any trouble with my 3.42s. had a lil whine to them in 5th/6th gear and slight vibration. put 4.10s in and now cant seem to get it right. new bearings/races,new oil,new more experienced help, same result.

the whine is loudest at a slight,, slight load. decel is bearable,,accel a lil louder. but im talkin 2-3 times louder than a normal whine. with windows down and radio on you can still hear the whine. id hate to take the 4.10s out, there much more fun to drive the car over the 3.42s

The vibration is probably your out of balance driveshaft which any good driveshaft shop can fix.

You will like 3.73's better and less whine also. Again, OEM 3.73's are quite (S10)

I have Richmond 4.10's and they whine. They are fairly noisy, but with the radio cranked it isnt too bad. I guess its just common.

yep, i know, i had the same prob, still do, my brand new auburn was fucked after 15 miles of driving easy, cause my new 4.11's to go, along with the new bearings, replace all the ****, pay someone to do it...and don't worry about it...that way if they **** up, they have to replace it..good luck
