i race in 5th gear. and its slow as ****, once i hit 5th at 115mph, stock geared cars come rushing up fast.

put it like this, u better have major power to be racing in 5th, remember it is an overdrive gear.

now of course your 5th gear with 4.10's is going to be stronger than your 5th gear with 3.42's, but when u can run your 3.42's all the way to around 135mph in 4th AND your in your sweet spot. ive had 4.10's for a long while and while it does have advantages in the mid range, the top end is just not there. i think if your trying to gain trap speed.. switching to 4.10's arent going to help u much...

I have only been to the track once since putting in my 4.33's. Stock rev lim iter(for now) I have to shift into 5th around the 1000'mark. I ran on 26" ET streets spraying out the hole.
With stock 3.42's,Nitto17"D/R's, with nitrous armed and coming on @3200 meant it did not hit till after the 60'. I ran:
60'-1.997
1/8-7.990@93.92
1/4-12.154@119.20
With 4.33's spraying as soon as my foot hit the floor, 26" ET streets(like was said, still spun some) shifting into 5th.
60'-1.62
1/4-11.708@114.06 (nitrous fuse blew when I shifted to 5th also)
So I lost 5 mph, but picked up .3" overall, and if it woulda kept spraying, woulda made up some mph and dropped et more.
Will be getting 28" slicks soon, and raising rev limiter a bit to ride out 4th till I can swap cams/springs.
*Cliff's notes* It won't hurt that much, but good luck with the ten bolt at the line.
