Default making a 10 bolt stronger

i had a friend tell me that a 10 bolt would hold a fair amount of power if moser axels and richmond gears and a girdle were used. what i want to know is, will it help much? i want to make sure my rear will hold up to some drag passes and be reliable with bolt ons and possibly nittos or bfg dr's. my car will be just bolt ons for a while, and until i can afford internal work, i don't want to spend the $ for a 12 bolt.

ive heard of some people using a solid pinion spacer to help as well but it seems to be an evitable truth that at some point it will break. some get more life than others but it will still break eventually.

Yeah, with a 6spd and good power your gonna break it. Save your money until you got enough for a 9". Instead of buying the bolt on parts right off the bat buy the rear, a clutch, and SFC's and go from there.

All that stuff will beef it up, but the weak link is actually the ring and pinion.

i think deflection is a huge problem.i would put a girdle on and then save up for a 12 bolt or preferrably 9 inch if you plan on putting real power to the ground.

With all that money you would have to spend to get all that you could buy a moser 9" housing and axles. You could just do a girdle and call it good, just don't drop the clutch on launch, feather it. It's the shock on the drivetrain that blows em. Personally I just want to get a 9" so I can put on some fat slicks on and get the wheels to lift.

In most of the 10 bolt pops i've heard about at least, the axles were the first things that went. Posi or gears really weren't the problem. If the moser axles fit i'd go for it, how much are they?

My axle and torsen went out at the same time. The axle was always bent since I had bought the car so I think that had a lot to do with it. That and mickey thompson radials at 14 psi and 4500 clutch dumps probably didn't help either.
