Default Is this a Fair Price for a 9" install

The guy told me it would be $425 to install the 9" moser rear. This seems high to me but maybe its not. HE also said it would be another 250 to install the racetronix fuel system at the same time. THis is all just for labor.

I don't know about the fuel system, but I was quoted $315 for a Moser 9" install in my camaro.

A 9" is not a simple a install as a 12 bolt. They are notorious for not being a "bolt in" like the 12 bolts' are. that being said, i'd say they're not raping you on the $$$. You could get it done cheaper, but i bet it wouldn't be done as cleanely.

Yeah, 12 bolt is plug and play. I forgot that the 9" needs more attention.

I paid $100 for my 12 bolt install

Rearend install price sounds fair to me.

what sort of problems are you talking about?pinion angle, lining up?
im considering a 9" for my 00 ws6 instead of a 12 bolt for the strength
but installation problems are something i can do with out

-Well, the TA bracket requires "cleanancing on most TA's.
-Most of the time, the LCA points don't line up perfectly with the LCA's(mine were fine though).
-Torque arms usually rub the floorboard
-no where to bolt off brake line bracket
-sway bar has strong tendancy to lay against housing(simple fix)
-it's big and heavy as CRAP!(hard to move around/align)
-depending on your options(ABS/TCS/E-brake), the backing plates are a bitch to get on(no c-clips)
-You need a serious press-machine to get all your bearings pressed on

I think that's about it. you can do it in your backyard if you've got the time and tools, but that price seems fair to avoid the hassle. O yea, my LCA bolt holes were the wrong size.

I had mine fully assembled at Billingsley racing and other that the brake lines, torque arm against the floor board, the install went pretty smooth. Chances are you will still have to pull out a grinder to get things just right.
