99% of the time I don't even know it's there. Very seldom you will like a clunk when it is locking up. The peace of mind that this rear has given me is worth it's weight in gold. Now I can rev to 4,000 rpm or more and dump the clutch without worrying about nuking the rear. I'll never consider any other kind of rear.Get Moser not Strange.

I am in love with my 9"/Locker setup....

If the traditional locker is a little too radical for you, my friend recently installed moser's "soft locker" in his 9" and is enjoying it so far. I'm not sure strength wise where it stands though.

I would not buy anything from Strange. I got my center section from them, it howled so loud you could not drive the car. They rebuilt it after I threatened to go to the Consumer Products Safety Commission. The carrier bearings were over tightened this time and I had to have it rebuilt locally. I don't think there is anything wrong with the parts just the morons doing the assembly.

I'm gonna chime as the only one supporting the Strange 12 bolt.

I'll be ordering one this winter with 4 channel and 3.42 or 3.73's.

I just can't bring myself to order a 9" because I really don't need anything that big. I do hit the track but I don't plan to make crazy amounts of power.

When it comes to OEM it is well know the the ford rear is the best. that does not hold true for the ford transmission.

It's not that bad, you can run the factory type of aftermarket exhaust without any problems, meaning one large single pipe coming back, and then out with duals. Bob

I'm going to go with a 9" most likely.

If you've ever set up a 9", you know why the 9" is most popular. They are a BREEZE to set up, and the removable center section is the cats meow.

If up to it, a full swap in a half hour is easily achievable. They are strong as ****, and take whatever most of us can throw at them.

Sure some of them fail from time to time. It has a lot to do with proper setup. That pic above blows my mind. How the hell did you do that?

The downfalls are that it's heavier than a 12 bolt, and takes up more space in the rear of our cars. Something which there isn't a lot of for exhaust, etc. Still very workable though.

I just love the design of the Ford 9"...
