Fireball,

On the street, are you starting in 2nd gear atleast? Also, is this causing you to slip the clutch a little more to avoid jerking the car around on low speed take-offs? I really hope you were smart and got some subframes and stiffened up the chassis too! You should make a pass or two on GSCs at Cecil, starting in 2nd or 3rd gear. In my '86 GT which had 3.73s (lots of low-end and only weighed 3050 with me in it) I was able to get 14.2ish GTech time starting in 2nd gear! The car went 13.7 starting in 1st gear on street tires. I bet with your combo, you could run low 12s on GSCs, without ever using 1st gear. That would be a sure way to make money, betting someone that you can beat them without using 1st gear, and letting their buddy ride with you to witness it! LOL

you can get the same roll-out ratio by using a smaller slick and a smaller rear gear.. in my mind you are just spining alot more rotational weight.. that will hurt your power. I guess this will be made up for and then some in the 60's?

4.71!!! **thud** that's the sound of me fallin' outta my chair.
Good Luck at the track.

I wouldn't try running on GS-C's with that gear or you may end up getting to know the WALL real well at your track.

Hoosier 28x9 slick, 4.56's , 7000rpm= 123.69mph. That's from the track not a calculator.

Joe, was that A4 or M6?

Anyway I had some issues with traction LOL. They don't prep the track that great on Friday Street nights...Plus all those cars on radials mess it up quite a bit

Anyway...I found 2 issues:

1) My Hoosiers are starting to wear down so I'm losing some of my effective gear ratio
2) I need 100 more RPM It found the limiter about 5-10 freaking feet from the traps

Either way I'm gonna tune in a 6800 limiter and let her rip :

BTW...I was running a GM stock lid (still haven't replaced the one I cut up for the TNT kit) and ran a horrible 11.94 @ 116.2 haha. Not bad for an engine that looks stock since it had a stock lid . Based on the fact that my limiter was acting at 116.2 that equates out approximately to 28" and 4.71 (when the tires grew...they only grew to 28"). 7100 rpm should get me to 125 when I set up my new combo. But I'm definately on the hairy edge....

JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT
