Cover Change with Gears

Cover Change with Gears Did you change the differential cover to a performance aluminum cover when you changed gears? I am going from 3.42s to 4.11s. With the 4.11s containing less material than the 3.42s, I figured it would be a good idea to do so. What are your thoughts?

I put on a TA cover with 3.42s and I haven't had any problems with my 10-bolt. I'm going with 4.10s, but I'm switching to a 12-bolt.
With that being said, I think the cover can only help, especially if you install the supplied studs. And if you're staying with the 10-bolt, you're gonna need all the help you can get.

That is what I figured, a little cheap insurance. I had one in my hands, but the company shipped a 7.5" and not an 8.5". I began to question if I really needed it.
From what I have seen, there are good variety of them out there. Any preferrences?
They are all relatively about the same price, but I have seen covers from:
Strange, Moser, LPW Racing, Summit, Jegs, and TA Performance.
Plus, is there any problems with leaking around the bearing preload screws?

I have a TA cover and its been fine, don't know about the others. I haven't had any leaking at all, and no leaking from the preload bolts. I used a gasket without RTV. I hear they leak if you use a gasket and RTV. If you use RTV you don't need the gasket, and vice-versa. Also, I followed the torque specs exactly.

Welcome. I noticed you have a truck, although I'm not sure what a RCSB is, but you should be all right with a 10-bolt. If this is a regular type of truck, I don't imagine you'll be doing 6k launches, plus traction is horrible with every truck I've driven.
