Car shudders and makes noise when downshifting from 4 to 3 with conv. locked The topic pretty much says it all. The car only does it when I give it just a little gas when in 4th and it starts to downshift to 3rd. A friend told me that the shudder is normal since the car is kind of bogging a little in 4th since it is barely enough gas given to downshift to 3rd, but I know that the noise isn't normal. The noise was loud at first then I did a trans fluid and filter change and now its still there but more muffled. The fluid was dark but it was not burned (smelled normal) which was odd to me. My mods are in the sig, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Car shudders and makes noise when downshifting from 4 to 3 with conv. locked The only way to fix the problem with the ST3500 is to sell it. I went round and round. It drove me crazy. I sold it and bought a Vig 3200. No more problems...

Re: Car shudders and makes noise when downshifting from 4 to 3 with conv. locked I am experiencing a similar situation. My car has a bad shutter around 40-45mph when I am coasting. I have noticed it ever since I installed my new converters. I had a TP4400 for about a week and then went with a Vig3200. I installed a BMR torque arm because the shop in town said my pinion angle was way off. This did not correct the problem. I don't hear any noise with mine though.
