Default PT4000 Arrived :-)

My son picked it up from Mike on his way home from UofA. We're going to install it ourselves this weekend.

Any pointers from those who have done it on their own?

Feel like a 46-year-old kid at Christmas.

Pat,

Luckily for you, you've already had the POS stock converter bolts removed. They are a huge pain to remove with an allen wrench. If you have access to a lift and a transmission jack it's a plus. If you're using jack stands and floor jacks, take your time and keep your patience. Use a hook tool to get the cooler lines loose and don't forget to remove/reinstall the dipstick tube bolt on the back of the passenger side head.

Doing it on the floor (the tranny that is). We just got it out and quit a few minutes ago. Learning new things always takes a little longer.

Got it off and was hung up on the rear tipping forward and guess what came out when the fill tube broke free... That's why God made paper towels, right?

Anyway, its out. Tomorrow we'll pull the Y3200 and install the PT4000.

Patrick, yes, patience is an asset.

BTW, do you locktite the converter bolts? What about the bellhousing bolts?

Just got mine back yesterday and it went in today. I went from Y3400 to PT4000 in my TH350. I can tell it's a little looser, but still very drivable

Good luck with the install. I'd give you some pointers, but my tranny and setup are far from stock, and they prolly differ quite a bit from the 4l60e swap

Yes.. loctite the converter bolts.. I've never use loctite on the bellhousing bolts. But I do re-check them along with everything a couple days after install.

Well its in. All I can say is WOW! What a difference over the Y3200. Can't wait to take it to the track. Street tire racing is going to be challanged (if I continue to run that class), but rolling the throttle is a skill that can be learned. But when the ET Streets are on, watch out.

Rolling starts are great too -- my son and I noticed the front of the car just jerk up in a rolling run from 30 MPH.

Going up a hill at 20 MPH is a hoot -- 3800 RPM!

One mod for this year down, two to go...

Thanks for the input.
