Default TP Method for removing Pilot Bushing BEWARE!!!!

Changing the clutch yesterday(another post!), and tried the Toilet Paper method to remove the pilot bushing, I would NOT do that again!! There is a PLUG in the crank that is very easily moved!! It was almost in the crankcase when we finnally used a flywheel puller to get the bushing out!! DO NOT DO THIS METHOD!!! maybe some guys have made it work, but I would NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Did you actually need a new pilot bushing? Or did you just replace it while you had the clutch out? I'm thinking about replacing mine when I take the tranny out to put in some new synchros. Mine may be worn out because in the T56 service manual, it says a worn pilot bushing could cause notchy shifts and mine is very notchy.

Get a flywheel puller. screw the threads into the bushing and pull. OR get a pilot bushing removal tool if they make one DONT DO THE DOO DOO PAPER TRICK!

Where was this post a few days ago!!!!???

Just kidding...I just did mine yesterday. What a pain in the ***, I didn't have a puller or a vehicle to go get one with. I drilled holes on both sides of mine and split it in half. I sure as hell hope I didn't push no damn freeze plug in. Everything seems fine, why the hell would it have a plug like that? A threaded plug seems more proper to me.
