Default Gears worn out???

I've had my Motive 3:73's installed for about a month now. Had to take my 98 Z back to the shop that installed them, because they were noisy. After the shop's second attempt to set them up correctly, they are 10 times worse. Sounds like a tornado siren in the rearend. Can this be fixed by a reputable mechanic, or are my gears worn out already?

Go back to the shop that did the work and make them fix it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I would take it back and make him fix it, but in addition to my gears being screwed up, he screwed something else up on my car. I don't think this guy can fix it to where they work correctly. He claims he pulled the rearend apart three times, but could not get rid of noise. I'm convinced the backlash is not set right. But, he'll say otherwise.

Theres too many gosh darn mechanics out there who dont know what the hell theyre doing. I had a guy look at my rear end today because there is too much slack and he said " Oh man, its junk. Blah blah. It aint gonna last much longer. You done stretched it all out. (more hick talk here and there that didnt make any mechanical sense)."
Then I asked the guy what EXACTLY was wrong with my rearend and he replied "oh well we didnt actually look at it."
God, Stupid people **** me off. Especially when they charge so much money.

This guy even told me he didn't know what else to do to get rid of the noise. But, then all of the sudden came up with the conclusion "Maybe your carrier is a little warped". I never had any rearend problems until this guy worked on my car. There is no way my carrier is warped, unless he screwed the job up so bad that it decided to warp. I will not take it back to this guy, he does not appear to know enough about fixing rearends, but brags that he does. It'll suck though, no telling how much it'll cost to fix.

Unless you have Richmonds, noise gears are the installers fault.

I had Motive's installed. They should not be noisy. I've yet to hear any complaints about them. Hopefully, I won't have to get a new set of gears. A little worried that these might be getting torn up from bad install. Won't know until it gets pulled apart again, or craps out. Whichever comes first.
