soo, anyone else here LIKE their locker?
i know the general consensus here is that "lockers suck"... im just curious if anyone else here has one and likes it.
yes, its grabby in tight corners if you dont push the clutch in.. yes it thunks a bit.... but both tires always spin, and i can still whip it into my parking spot like i still have a posi...
i know its not for everyone, but am i alone here or what?! lol

It makes noise and takes getting used to, but I prefer it over a posi or spool anyday. I would prefer a torsen but the price was right for the locker and I know it aint gunna break no matter what I throw at it.

I have a Detroit in the back of my 87 Blazer with a 1 ton rearend, 8 inches of lift, and 38.5" Super Swamper Boggers. I know it's not the same, but I love it. Both tires never quit spinning on the throttle.

And I love it.....now that I am more used to it. It feels so peaceful inside to know that no matter what rpm I let go of the trasnbrake button at, with whatever shot size the rear will take it like a seasoned **** star, begging for more. What click-click-click and THUNK, thats just the bitch asking for more!

lockers go in 9"s...Danas... ect.
lockers dont go in 10bolts... the only thing close is that powertrax one, and it WILL break... they work fine in larger rears, but the 10bolts tiny ring gear made them make it a bit small to fit inside... so it breaks under abuse..

Back when I still had street wheels and tires on the car (slicks and skinnies full time now) it made it so much easier to control the car in a slide. It was so much fun to throw the car sideways through an intersection. Now it makes the car much easier to turn than a spool would be with sticky tires and !PS.

I have a legitimate Detroit Locker in my 9", and will NEVER go any other way. I am in love with the strength, durability, and the sound of it as well as the looks people give you when you turn and the "click, click, click" sounds off. If you know how to drive a car with a locker, it isn't bad at all. It'll only act up every once in a while on you. Install and setup of a locker rear has a lot to do with the driveability of the locker also.

I was driving to work yesterday and pulled out into a busy street, I almost killed it so I slipped the clutch and reved her up to about 3k and as the rear was starting to go straight the locker locked and I was sideways. With cars coming up at over 50 less than 100 feet from behind it was good to know both tires were in action. First time I broke the MTs loose on the street too.

Are any of you guys with lockers daily drivers?
Also, anyone with 35 spline axles? Your thoughts?
I'm buying a Moser 9" for cheap that I'm pretty sure has Strange 35 spline axles, 3.70 gears and a detroit locker. I'm contemplating my options. I think ideally for my setup, I want a Truetrac, 31 spline, and 4.10 gears..... Anyone interested in trading?
