So no matter if the gears are set up perfectly, this rear, by design, is going to make a lot of noise?

Check one more rear end off my dwindling list of possibilities...

Some mentioned theres are dead quite, most aren't according to this post. Not sure who did what to keep them quite. Anybody recomend a certain type a fluid to quite these axles down some. Anything that will work with a truetrac posi that is.

Mine is not quiet by any strech of the imagination, but it is much much much quieter than the 2 Moser 12 bolts that I had previously. That and the back lash seem to be much better than the Moser 12 bolts's.I used 80-90 non synthetic with 1 bottle of GM Posi additive. It has a quiet whine. I can not hear it now that I got my LT and TSP True Duals. On the other hand I can not hear much of anything any more..

i just got word mine is in route finally. once i get it here, i'll have it in and report back my experience. it sure better not be louder than my Yukon 4.10's cuz they sound like a pack of sea walruses back there sometimes.

Default update.

i noticed after 100 miles or so, a whine developed at 50mph and up--more pronounced on gas. i now have 300 miles on it and it hasn't got any worse. its not near as bad compared to what i was previously subjected to. the little whine i do have, i'm not worried about one bit as long as this rear holds up. the fitment was excellent and everything feels really tight, but my car isn't lowered...yet

ls2 bait... I'd be real careful with the gas tank... When most work is done to any gastank/flammable container, they usually pressure fill them with an inert gas i.e. argon to rid it of fumes. Just want to see you safe man.

talked to strange today and they said they use those axles ends for several applications so they all have the fittings. the ones on the dana are not used. hope that clears it up

thanx patriot but i have no plans on messing with my tank as i dont posess the knowledge to do it correctly w/o blowing myself up

The grease fittings I'm referring to are located just behind the brake assembly on top of the units axles housings. Or did I recieve something extra? I checked my rearend out just this afternoon (that sounds kind of funny in a way) for pinion angle and tightness of the bolts since installation and they were there. Honest injun!
