Need Help Asap well i just picked up my new car lastnight, today i turned a corner got on it and hit a what looked like some large dirt clumps and got some wheel hop. now i have a really loud humming coming some where from the rear of the vehicles it sounds like. doesn't do it in 1st but in 2-6 from 2krpms up its loud as hell. i really need help ASAP b/c i really need to drive back home tonight which is about 100 miles away...hoping it maybe something like pinion bearing or such. car drives fine besides the noise. thanx in advance

check all your lug nuts and make sure none of the studs are broke. If you do have a broken stud don't worry its a cheap and easy fix!
Last car I saw that hit sand and got wheel hop screwed up his diff pretty bad.
When he did this to his and it started making noise he drove it around for a few days before it actually broke. I don't know if this is the same problem but you may or may not make it back.
What kind of budget are you on to fix it? And what rear gear ratio do you have?

Does your parking brake still work. I twisted the drive shaft and doing so it messed up the mount in the drive shaft tunnel. It held fine for a while but I hit a pot hole and it came loose allowing it to rub on the drive shaft and made a whining grinding noise since it was barely touching. It only did this over 25 mph. Hopefully it isn't too bad.
