Angry Driveshaft Problems

Well, I got my car back from the shop back in May and while pulling on to the Freeway, the driveshaft fell off. Yeah. I wasn't going fast and I shut it the car off but the Driveshaft did bang all around. The yoke came disconnected from the Diff. I was pissed for sure. The guy that worked on the car came out and put a new yoke on it. I think he forgot to tighten one side in the first place.

Anyways. I have only 350 miles on the new engine because i'm trying to break it in. Well I was coming into work this morning and I had a bad constant vibration. I went home and put the car on Jackstands. Turned the car on and put it in Drive. The wheels were not vibrating but when I looked at the Driveshaft, it was so bent.

Should I just go to a Junkyard and pick up another one or should I buy a new one? I don't want to spend a lot of money "over $250" on one.

I am getting so sick of this crap. I won't say who the Business was or who, until some matters are taken care of.

Let me know if anyone has one that I can buy from you. "NON BENT"! Thanks

The shop that worked on your vehicle should cover the cost of a good usable driveshaft.

If not, pick up a shaft from someone on this board.

You can find stock aluminum or steel DS's through a junk yards parts locator service. They generally run a little over a $100. I personally would upgrade from OEM.

Keep in mind that a lot of people have had the stock driveshafts break on them. If your car is producing a lot more horsepower than it was when it was stock, I'd upgrade to a better driveshaft. Bob

What kind should I get? I don't need carbon fiber. Would steel be better?

I can't possibly understand why anyone would not be happy with a steel DS. I run a Denny's Nitrous, lifetime guarantee, good for like 2,000 hp. Other than stealing a few hp you'd never know it's there,it's the greatest.
