Default 3:73s ARE IN!!

i installed my 3:73s gears on thursday and test drove and programed with hyper tech programer, car feels faster but i noticed that it shifts faster at very low speeds, im doing about 30 and its already going to 4th, it shifts faster from 2 to 3rd, some said i should replace my speed sensor since i have new gears, i didnt adjust my shift points cuz im not sure how to. my speedo works fine now, i programed the gears and tire size (26.5). should i really change my sensor the ABS light doenst come on. i went from 2:73 to 3:73

Thats how mine is too, since the RPMs are going to be higher for any given speed, it can upshift at a lower speed and still be in the correct RPM range. I've noticed that my converter locks up at 40 MPH instead of 45 MPH when I had my 3.23s.

That's normal.

The shift points in an auto computer are different depending on the gear size. You can convert them and program new shift points that will make it shift at the same place as before if you want.

When I went from 2.73 to 3.73 gears, I tried to use my Hypertech to reprogram the trans. The handheld just wasn't able to do it correctly. Later on I had my car professionally tuned, and that's when everything was sorted out correctly. Yes, it's going to shift a lot sooner now, but you'll eventually adjust your driving style to fit it. Just give it some time...

I went 2.73s to 3.73s on my LT1 and had some gear whine

noticed nearly .3 in the 1/4 and 2 mph, good luck!
