Default Question about Energy Suspension torque arm mount...

I just ordered an Energy Suspension torque arm mount from ls1speed.com the other day and a buddy of mine told me to think twice about installing it and that i should ask around first.

I've heard that my car may ride harder and "feel like a truck"...
Will it give me more road noise?
Is it worth installing?
My car is a daily-driver, so should i or shouldn't i install it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Thanx alot!:worship:

I think your buddy is getting it confused with a poly transmission mount which can cause excessive vibrations. I've done a poly TA bushing on two cars and both were fine. If you're on a budget, it's fine, though the install on a A4 car is a PITA.

I had the energy suspension torque arm mount on my car before I switched to the BMR torque arm, which also uses a Poly mount. I didn't notice any huge differences with NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) But when I put in the poly trans mount, it vibrated, but not that bad, when I added the CarTek Clutch, it was almost unbarable.

The only trick I have to offer on the install is that u use liberal amounts of their "grease" and that you install the poly into the clam shell stock bracket and get all the bolts started first. THEN slide the torque arm into the poly and push it far enough forward so you can attach it to the axle. Then attach the torque arm to the axle and torque it down. And finnally, torque down the clam shell bracket bolts.

If you put the poly on the torque arm first and then try to start the bolts on the clam shell bracket, you will never, never, ever get the bolts started (They are too short). This was the most frustating part for me when I did my first one.
