Default 9" or 12 bolt for a M6?

i have heard from a few people that a 12 bolt may not be the best in a M6 car, since the launches will be more violent then in a auto. also which rear would be the best as far as swapping in and out, are then any that directly swap? will i need a new driveshaft with a 9" or 12bolt? thanks

I'd go with the Moser 9 ich, which is pretty much a direct swap. The stock driveshaft fits with the use of a Napa pn# 240-0447 1310/1350 conversion u joint. I sell the Moser 9 inch with the Truetrak posi, your choice of gear ratio, nodular iron case, for $2400 shipped. $2,500 shipped with ABS/TCS. Bob

I went with a 12 bolt from EPP rather than a 9 inch because I wanted to keep my abs, since I have 3 channel. It is doing great thanks Bob

yeah you can get a 4 channel 9" rear end. (that's ABS and TCS) but you can't get a 3 channel 9" rear unless you ditch your ABS like i did...

however it's my understanding that you can get a 3 or 4 channel 12 bolt

Yes, there are 3 and 4-channel 12-bolts available.

Also, don't forget that ABS can be an option on a 3-channel rear, but it'll require a home-built setup using some sort of sprocket or small gear as an exciter ring. It could be mounted on the pinion flange with a home-built braket to hold the OEM ABS sensor. Many people have done this to get a 3-channel ABS 9" Ford.
