Default Best gearing ratio for SS Camaro?

hailing from Nor ca. I would like to get a more agressive gear ratio. Any recommendations for my 00SS M6..Also, How do I ID my car's gears? IS there a RPO code?

there's an actual rear end section for this.... but go with some 4:10's or at least 3:73's

but essentially save your bucks for a 12 bolt or 9"

If you think it doesnt have the stock gears you can either pull the cover and count teeth, or jack up the rear end, put it in nuetral. Mark the d-shaft and a tire..then count revolutions. For example, mine had 3.23s so for one revolution of the tire the driveshaft turned 3.23 times. for 4.11s the d-shaft would turn 4.1 times etc.....Ron

i have gone with the 3:73 gears in my 00 TA, M6,,,and man did it make a diff,,,whoa,,i did not go with the 4:10s because of losing high end,,the 3:73's give me the big off the line boost feeling, without the high RPM's at high crusin speeds,,,when i am at 80mph, my RPMS are at 1200,,,,sweet.

At 80 with 3.73's you should be close to 2000 rpms. My stock 3.42's cruise at like 1800 at 80 so there is no way you cruise at 1200 rpms at 80mph

I was thinking DAMN, That a whole mechanic must have put the year old 4.10's he had lying around. lol Yeah IM close to 2k @ 80 w/ 3.73's.

I would say for a 10 bolt, 3.73 is max. Especially on a six speed car cause that thing will blow.
