Default movin' up to a 3.42

My car has a 3.23 but I know the m6 cars come with a 3.42. Jumpin' up to that should perk it up right? I hit the highway every now and then. 3.73 I think would be too high. Wondering what you guys think.

3.23 to 3.42 would be barely noticeable. If I had an auto it would be 3.73s or nothing at all!

I jumped up from 2.73's to 3.42 in my IROC and it made a nice difference. As Kaliente mentioned, there probably wouldn't be too much of a difference switching from 3.23 to 3.42's. I'd also go with the 3.73's.

I went from 2.73s to 4.10s ... 4.10s are too much for the highway. But 3.73s are reasonable to most people for highway use. You will want 3.73s, or save the money and just keep the 3.23s I wouldnt spend the money to only jump that little bit.

No. You could safely say that 3.73s are the 'standard' choice for automatics that came with 3.23's.

Go with 3.73, or keep just keep the 3.23 and get a TC.

I just kept my 3:23's and got a 3400 stall, but eventually i will probably switch to 3:73's also.

4.10s!!! i don't see how anyone could regret putting 4.10s in an auto.

Wouldnt 4.10 make first gear useless? When I put in my 3.42's in my IROC I had to be gentle in first gear. THen again, it was a 383.
