Default Any one have 4:56 gears in there car? LS1 M6 Camaro

Im thinking of doing 4:11 but i was wondering if anyone did 4"56?
I never go to the track, its just a street/show car.
I just want ther car to pick up and go better, with the stock 3:42 it takes forever to spool up and hit the power band.

I have 4.57 spool in the *** of mine. You may not want to go that high though because of the charger. For that application I would say 3.90-4.10. My car is NA with 480rwhp. It's alot of fun on the street and not as bad as people may say. The only down side is you shift sooner. I can still comfortably cruise around in 4th, on the highway at 70 or better 6th is very useable.

I wouldn't put those in a 6-speed car with the stock 10-bolt. It wouldn't last a day. I though charged cars didn't like that much gear? Most guys I see have like 3:50's or 3:73's.

Yeah they don't, a friend of mine put 4.10's in his cobra and it slowed down.

Not to sound like a jerk, but it is 4.56:1, not 4:56. Those numbers are EXTREMELY different.

With the ATI ProCharger D-1SC and your M6 tranny, it is a miracle the 10 bolt is still holding up. I'd go with 4:10/4:11 gears for good around gains. As has been suggested, 4:56 gears would be too much with the power your car is producing. Bob
