Noise coming from rear-end during decel

My 01 WS6 whines on decel. It just turned over 19,000 miles last weekend. I bought it from a guy that never drove it hard. He said it never sdaw 80 MPH. I personally know and I believe him.
From what I have seen on the whine it is because there is not enough depth on the pinion to the ring gear. My dad gave me his 95 silverado and he had teh rear end built at about 50,000 because of a bad bearing. I sold it at about 250,000 miles and the rear end whined the entire time on decel. I would not be too concerned about it unless it gets louder. I would try a thicker lube to see if it helps. I will be changing mine here shortly to see if it helps.
