#1 FLP Level IV 4L60E(Well proven performer)
#2 Speed Inc Race Prepped (Good results so far)
#3 Yank Sportsman(Some have great luck, some are DOA)

I researched all of them and went with the FLP. I'm definitely happy so far.

They both make good trannys, but man the labor is killer. I priced out the high performance parts and they come up well short of $1K, which means that just labor for FLP IV is somewhere from $1.3K to $1.7K. I guess it's harder to install frictions if the are blue instead of black. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I put a vote in for FLP.

Just to let you know they (flp and the others) doe not just replace clutches etc, they also make parts and modifidy stock parts. Parts to "rebuild" the transmission are only $400-700 then it should take a day or more to go through the transmission and check/change all the clearances and reassemble the transmission.

You priced out the parts? Let's see the list! Also please tell us what all FLP does to the tranny. I already know you can't but go ahead and take your wild guess.

I don't care for the company that doesn't tell me what I'm paying for. For all I know they could be putting in the same parts as everyone else and just charging more. I priced out all the performance parts I could possibly find for the 4L60E. It does have a finite number of parts you know. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Here is a link.

http://web.camaross.com/bb/Forum1/HTML/099938.html

RACINLT1 had his trans build for $850 and he is almost in the 10s. Hmmmm. $850 or $2500. There is a tough choice. 10s seem pretty good for 4L60E. And only for $850.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my trans with the same parts that RACINLT1 had put in his.

What do you know about transmissions?

Frank has been very helpful and answered my questions very fast.

FLP on the other hand ignored my questions.

If you want to spend $2500 for something that you can get for $850, that's fine with me. On top of that he has a WARRANTY? Does FLP? Look at his list. He is straight up with what he is replacing and why.

Lastly I'm not bashing the quality of FLP transmissions. I'm just saying that they are very expensive. There are alternatives you know.

Anyway, I'm not getting into arguments from tough guys out of state. I said all I wanted about the topic. I'm not responding to any childish remarks in this thread. Just rember that note to self. I hope you follow through on it.

Dom.... ahh you know what I`m tired I`m not even gonna try to explain to you how wrong you are... as a matter of fact please go get your 850 dollar transmision and later when it blows up you`ll realize that making a good trans hold takes much much more than just replacing some parts.
What that is I have no clue but Chuck at FLP does and he`s not sharing it for obvious reasons..

Please stick to "LT1 air foil" topics.. thanx..LOL
