Default 4:10 vs 3:73

Ok guys what do you think. I am getting a bigger gear. The 3:42 just doesn't cut it anymore. I heard from many guys in my group that the 4:10 just blows the tires all day long but also there A4 guys and I'm a M6.

One guy in my group and on here "hardtop94" is happy with his 4:10. He says you have to baby it through 1st but when you hit second she takes off real nicely. Also I won't have to change the carriers or anything right. I mean with 3 series carriers changing to a 4:10 I just wondered if this would have to be changed.

So what are your opinions. Here's what I have so far for the car. I have LT's to the Borla or ecutout, CAI and a coldfusion wetkit setup for a 75 shot. Will a 4:10 be overkill. I usually drive the car on weekends pretty much and once in a while to the track. It's my toy so no worrying about daily driving here, as well as gas mileage. The only thing I'm worried about is that I won't get the traction to the ground, but can this be fixed with LCA's and other suspension work?

Let me know what you guys think.

I love(d) my 4.10's. Cruising at 80 on the highway you will be at about 2300-2400 rpms, so its not too bad.

Im actually going down to a 3.90 or 3.73, because I am crossing the traps at 6300 rpms, and if I get any more power Ill have to shift into 3rd.

I say go for it. They are fun as all hell to drive with on the street.

I had 3.70, na it was nice, better if it were lower. But on the spray, I was shifting pretty quick. 150-75 2 stage. Rev. limiter still set stock. I've changed to 3.50 for the future turbo.

So would 4.10's be overkill while I'm on the bottle?

id go with the 4.10's ... yes you can kill the tires on the street but at the track they will help you get out of the hole ...

I'd say 4.10 on the bottle is too low for me. Unless your shifting at 6800-7000. Personally 3.70 would be the lowest I would go. I could only imagine what 4.10 would be like. The lower gear difenitely pulls like a train. That's my opinion, maybe someone with a 4.10 and spray could comment.

Ok and I appreciate your honesty opinion. That's a good idea I really need someone who sprays around a 75-100 shot that has a lower gear. I liked to hear what they'd have to say.
