Default Moser axles and 1/2" studs?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slZ1JIs3NQ4

So.....I need to upgrade to 1/2" screw-in wheelstuds.

What do I need to have done? I'm guessing take the axles out and have them drilled/tapped for the 1/2's? How much $$ am I looking at for this upgrade? Thanks

i just put in a moser 9" myself, was very upset that shop did not order 1/2" studs. they also put a spacer behind wheels and studs do not come out of the lug nuts. i think nhra wants the studs to come out about the same as the dia. of the stud.

I went 9.90's with ARP 12mm studs in my axles. Sorry to see that happen to someone, hope it didn't hurt anything else.

do you think I'll be ok with ARP studs? or how much you think it would be to pull the axles out and have the tapped for 1/2?

Moser charges $65.00 to drill a new bolt pattern and figure in some shipping back and forth. If you had the Moser 12mm studs in there then yes the ARP studs will hold just fine.

HOLY ****!

I've never seen someone do that...your car launches like a **** off the two step (sounded like a two step at least).

yeah, I finally got it to hook, LOL. I battled issues with the suspension for a year before I got it setup right. The 2-step is definetly a fun toy to play with, although my pistons probably arent too happy with me right now, as well as my studs, LOL.

~$1000 later... Yep wheel studs are definately more fun to break. Moser gives no guarentee on 31 splines

Bolt-ons, naturally aspirated, ~3350lb Im assuming the 6400rpm clutch dump launches did it in . I originally had the tru-trak in mine, broke it in about 3 months and just threw a spool in it.

How is the spool? Is it mostly a street car?

Spool was destroyed by the axle, splined end wouldnt come out - even in the press with 20 tons of pressure. Its mostly a race car now, drove it on the street about 3mths with the spool, wasnt too bad.
