Default Correct U-joint w/ moser and stock shaft..

Just installed a Moser 12 bolt in a 98' F-body. The U-joint that was supplied was a part # 2-1153 that came with the rear. We are using the stock shaft, for now, and was told this joint would get the job done.

It appears that the joint will fit the rear but not the driveshaft. What joints are you guys using?

Tony

Yep...the #447 available at Napa (and I'm sure other places). Converts the Saginaw 3R to a 1350.

If it is a stock driveshaft you are putting it in, and it is still the stock u-joint...do yourself a favor and pick up a torch of some sort while you are at it (if you don't have one already). You'll need it to melt the injected nylon holding the stocker in place...takes a long time.

Hey guys... Thank you for yesterdays info.. I did go to Napa and got the u-joint today. Tried to fit it in, but it still doesn't fit the drive-shaft that is in this car. 1998 Camaro SS, 6 speed. The shaft is Aluminum and the stamping on the shaft has a spicer stamp with the #f2899 1 kae. The u-joint is a hair to big to fit the shaft. The other end of the joint fits the yoke fine. What do you think?? Tony

If you got the 240-0447 U Joint, which is a 1310 to a 1350 conversion U Joint, it should be the one you need. I'd double check to make sure napa gave you the right one, it's the only thing I can think of. Bob

You know the end caps have to be pressed in right? It won't just slide right in there.

The issue here is not knowing how to change a U-joint but rather which one fits. We have miked everything and the **** doesn't work. I am starting to think the shaft in the car is an odd ball as the joint that Moser supplied should have worked. They knew it was going on a stock shaft with there rear.

We'll double check the part that Tony picked up at NAPA.

Howard
