larger gears? people usualyl refer to them as tall(hgiher max speed) and short(lower speed max speed).

so what do you mean like 4.10s or like 2.73s?

the bigger you go the more strees it will put on the weak little 10-bolt. Expect a drop in gas milage if your an auto, in a manual you control the shifts, so besides having to shift more often, nothing to worry about. Your also going to have to recalibrate your speedo or it will be off and you will rack up miles faster.

But gears are an awesome mod. i have 4.10s in my 6speed and theres nothing better. thats why they are also going in my 12-bolt.

there is supposedly more stress placed on it, but i would suggest instead of paying for gears, to just save up for a built rear, cause one way or another, chances are the rear will fail.

i've read that beefing up your rear end would just be a waste of money, i read an article in chevy performance and for about 500 bux you could beef it up, . . i'd rather use that towards a 12 bolt or 9 inch, . .

Higher numeric gears are weaker because they multiply more toque and the pinion itself is smaller.
