It should give a fairly large performance boost. I thought about doing it myself but the price is prohibitive to me at the moment. It's not bad if you are just going to get the 2 series gears but I am going to hold out and just put in a 12 bolt when I get the money.

Yes, definitely worth it. I went from stock 2.73s to Richmond thick 3.42s, so I kept the #2 carrier. I noticed a big change, way more power off the line. Traction is becoming an issue now. I really like my 3.42s though.
