Before I get blasted with the "...you have to fab this..." and the "...you have to shorten this..." comments, I am comfortable with performing this stuff as well has anything else chassis related... so on to the post:

Would it even be worth trying to adapt this rear to work in my '02 Z28? The reason I ask is because I have a F250 sitting here with one in it...

Obviously i would have to change axles to maintain the correct bolt pattern and such, as well as fab up the spring perches and panhard/LCA brackets...

How about disc brake conversions? Anyone know if one exsists?

 

Oh I should also mention the car is about to be back halved and 4 linked...

Dosent seem worth it... besides from all the extra work I'd imagine you'd have a hard time finding aftermarket parts like carriers specific ratios that your application might need there are plenty of other options I

Its overall size would make it hard to fit under an Fbody, but you did say you are getting back halved. It is also going to be a power hungry rear, and probably no stronger than a built 9". You are limited on ratios, pretty much 3.73, 4.10, 4.56, 5.13. There used to be 3.55's, I dont think there are any more.

 

with my engine setup, i will be staying inbetween 4.10's and 4.56's anyway. my thoughts were that is is a free rear end, it has a massive ring gear, and looks to be a pretty stout built rear. a 9in would be killer, but my money is being spent else where currently and having a rear end cost me 2500+ just doesnt seem feasible to me right now. thats not to say it wont be changed at a later date though.
