Default stronger 10 bolt ?

Im looking to put full exhaust, ls6 intake manifold, lid and TREX cam in my camaro. I know that the factory 10 bolts are pretty weak. I know that the cam requires different gears and im going to go with 4.10s, but i was wondering if there was anyway to make the rear end stronger while i was in there and where should i buy my gears from. Dont have teh money for a 12 bolt right now, so jsut want this one to last a bit longer.

Complete rebuild, and a TA Girdle, will help it out a little after you do your gears but don't expect it to take 4k launches on sticky tires over and over again!

Oh i deff am not going to do that. Ill keep most of them to roll races or easy launches. Ricers around here only do roll races anyways. lol

Throw some strange or moser axles in it, put a girdle on it and hope for the best. Thats what I'm gonna do for now. I have also had thoughts of welding the tubes at the pumpkin. Good luck with the six speed, for me it will be too tempting to dump the clutch at 6000 with a set of slicks on it.

I also thought i heard somewhere that the stock 3.23 gears are stronger than any aftermarket gear. Just what I heard. Not sure if it is true.

Just my 0.02

The above items will help, but no guarantee the rear will last. Bob

The only way to be sure is to upgrade to a 12 bolt or 9 inch. You will just be throwing money away on your junk 10 bolt!!!

you are wasting your money. use all that money your spending on cam and stuff, and buy the rearend....im dead serious. i had your same mindset when i started, and i did it. I rebuilt my 10 bolt 6-7 times...its NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to get a reasonable ET u need to lunch 4000 +rpm with ur setup, so basically like the guys said previously u r upgrading a junk.

I am sure u wont be happy with mid to low 12s time slip by lunching that low and having a 242/248 cam.

easy on rear end= Crappy ET.

If i were u, I would get the 12bolt or 9inch first since they cost more. then start getting the other parts individualy , cam ,ls6 intake ...ect . since they cost alot less.

Hey man Im in the same boat, but Im an A4.Im cammed right now and just dropped my car off to add heads and ported fast 90/90,now the A4 will handle this ,but in the spring Im gonna add ashot of nitrous. The only thing Ive added so far to help the rear is lower control arms to eleminate wheel hop(rear killer),but as far as agirdle or axle Im not sticking a dime in it.When I take my car to the track with the nitrous H/c its gonna have a 12bolt or nine inch or I might see if I can push this 10 bolt into the low 11's Ive seen guys with an A4 go 10's onthe stock 10 bolt, but it eventually goes so why put money in it.As far as the control arms I dont look at it as awaste cuz it helps with traction/launch and when the 10bolt goes you can still use it unlike agirdle that you cant use anymore unless you rebuild the 10 which in my opinion is a waste cuz it will just break again. Its kinda like when my tranny whent sure I could have had joes tranny shop or IT,Browns do a stock rebuild for cheap, but why astock 4l60e will just break again I ordered a fully built one from a reputable shop
