Default 4.11svs 4.10s???

ok this might be a dumb question but i hav seen 4.10s and herd about 4.11s is there a difference between them??

You can get 4.10s for the 10-bolt, and 4.11s for the 12-bolt (and 9" too, I think). I'm pretty sure that's the difference...

number of teeth

10 teeth on the pinion and 41 teeth on the ring gear (41/10= 4.10)

9 teeth on the pinion and 37 teeth on the ring gear (37/9 = 4.11)

I would assume the 4.11's are stronger as I would thing the teeth are thicker, not 100% on that one though...

I believe both are available for a 7.5 10 bolt

i've heard the same thing, that 4.11s are stronger due to the ring gear being slightly thicker due to the tooth configuration (37/9)...

4.11 or 4.10 depends on the manufacturer, some make them 4.10's others make them 4.11. As far as strength, that is up for debate. Some say more teeth is better becuase you have more contact area from having more teeth in mesh, others like the thicker teeth. The truth is there is probably no measureable difference.
