I have a 9" in my 99 camaro and a strange 12 bolt in my 93 camaro, both are full spool so its not that street friendly unless you like that kind off thing

you would have to continually beat the 12 bolt with 600+ rwhp on a good tire before i would really worry about it. 12 bolts are lighter so and have less parasitic loss... if the 12 bolt can handle it, why accept the downsides of the 9 in?

thats how i made my choice.

I really think you'd be better off with a nine inch. Bob

What down sides?? The torque arm mounts way better on a 9" housing. No problems with the bolts backing out like on a 12-bolt. Not to mention the power train loss is outweighed by the extra strength of the 9".

We got a guy in our local club that has had a 9" & a 12-bolt in a car with rears being the only difference mod wise & ran the exact same times. So the little extra loss isn't really gonna matter unless your the type that tries to shave every little tenth of their E.T. every weekend or run.
